The Tone Wheels

A "tone wheel” is a simple electromechanical apparatus, primarily
used in electromechanical organ instruments like the Hammond
organ, that generates electric musical notes by converting the
spinning movement of an electric motor into sound.

The Tone Wheels bring a unique and fresh blend of blues, soul, jump, boogie,
and New Orleans grooves to Bay Area and Santa Cruz audiences. Comprised
of seasoned musicians from Santa Cruz and the surrounding mountains, the
band formed in 2024 with a mission to breathe fresh life into timeless classics.
Their setlist draws from a unique blend of inspiration featuring Booker T. &
the MG’s, Albert Collins, The Meters, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Taj
Mahal, George Benson, and many more—delivering a smoking-hot gumbo
of danceable tunes that keep the crowd moving all night long!
